Expandable Chess Table
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright
From 30" x 36" to 30" x 72"

This table is fairly small. Its main use is a chess table. Its top is 30" x 36" but can be expanded to 30" x 72" with two leaves to allow for other uses. The table was made from quartered sawn white oak.
I used some design ideas from two different Wright pieces. One inspiration was a dining room table with octagonal legs and leaves that were added to the ends of the table. Another inspiration was a small side table with vertical spindles. The horizontal banding on the legs was fun and challenging.
